I want to buy cars at auctions in San Diego, how much is the license to buy them?

1. A dealers license? It's not how much they cost, but if it's anything like TX, you need an actual property, a landline to that property, and a bunch of other jazz to get a license.
2. You've got no business getting into this business, since you clearly don't have even the most basic concepts down. In order ot buy at a dealer auciton, you need a dealer license. In order to get a dealer licences, you need a business license, tax ID, background check, place of business, sign on the door, surety bond, dealer auto insurance, and a LOT of cash on hand to cover all of that plus your opening inventory.
3. If you are going to a regular public auction that is open to the public, you don't need a license. But, if you want to go to a dealer's auction, the license can be pretty expensive because you need to meet a lot of requirements before you can even apply. Check out your state's DMV website for info on what you need and how much it will cost.
