how can i find out when police auctions are being held in my area?

im not looking to pay to belong to a site and dont want to bid on cars online im aware of the news paper but are there any sites that list the ones around you

  1. Call your local police departments or check your local paper. You can usually be added to a mailing list of the local police dept. and most states require prior notice in the local paper.
  2. Type this "police auctions by state" in Yahoo search and you should be able to find it from there. I did and found several good hits on the first page.
  3. Most law enforcement (city/county/state/federal) auctions are announced (by law) in a single local or regional newspaper on a certain day of the month. You could call the newspapers or call the law enforcement agencies directly to find out when and where the auctions are held.   4. john c, I found a review of several auto auction and government seized sites. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Government-Seized-Auto-Auctions.html These sites probabaly have a FAQ page to help you. However they cost a little bit to join, but I couldn't find any free resources online. Since the vehicles are always being sold, your signup fee is probably used to employ people to keep the site up to date.
